Measuring Length and Width

Place a piece of paper on the floor in front of the dancer. Have the dancer place their foot on the paper making sure that the foot and the shin are at a 90 degree angle.
Take a pencil to trace around the foot keeping the pencil perpendicular to the paper.
Repeat with the other foot
Use tape measure to find the length at its longest point, and width at its widest point and mark the numbers on the paper.
Use the sizing chart to find the dancer’s shoe size.
*These size conversion charts are meant to be a starting point in the fitting process and cannot replace an in-person fitting. Each brand and model have variations that are unique to its fit as well as slight variations within the model according to the maker. The sizing chart does not take into account the dancer’s preference, skill level, padding preferences, skin sensitivity, weight, height, past and current injuries and good and bad habits.
Other tips:
Feet tend to swell throughout the day so taking measurements towards the end of the day or after dance class will give the most accurate fitting.
Always measure both feet as most people have 2 different sizes.
Padding makes a big difference in size and width. Make sure the dancer is fitted with the padding intended to wear with the shoes.
