Hi, I‘m Rose, AKA SheSpeex. I use she/her pronouns.

I've lived on both coasts of the US, growing up dancing at Carousel Dance Studio outside Los Angeles, California, and now teaching ballet, tap, and jazz at The Dance Conservatory in Dover, Delaware. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), the hypermobility-type, and that has significantly shaped my life. I've also rowed for years, including for the University of Texas: Austin, and Junior National Camps, and coached high school rowing after passing my US Rowing coaching level 1 & 2 classes. Finally, to round out my odd assortment of sports, I have a black belt in Tang Soo Do.

As a function of dealing with my EDS, and the subsequent Fibromyalgia, I've made a personal study of anatomy, physiology, and especially Trigger Point Therapy or TPT. I apprenticed for 4 years with a certified Trigger Point Therapist, and have used TPT to help my local community to deal with pain, range of motion issues, and preventative maintenance.

In my life, I practice and peer counsel using Non-Violent Communication, and have volunteered with the organization One Big Circle and Family Heart Camp for the past 4 years. It is a wonderful non-profit that helps people fundamentally communicate authentically on the foundation that we all are trying to achieve some need. It has truly changed my life, my way of interacting with everyone, and especially in communicating with my youngest dancers.

I also was a member of the Board of Directors for my local chapter of the organization Babywearing International. In my time as a Board member and educator, I helped run the organization, volunteered at national conventions as an educator, and organized, solicited donations for, and took care of distribution for the 2014 Babywearing International Week. I led meetings, did private consultations, and educational outreach events for all of the Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia penninsula.

I'm a proud geek, love to read, bellydance, spin, knit, and weave, and can gush all day about Harry Potter or the Outlander series of novels, and now the show from Starz, too! I have two wonderful homeschooled children, and a sweet husband who puts up with all my hobbies, passions, and conflicting schedules.
