Whether you are a dance teacher, a physical therapist, shoe room supervisor, or a dancer in training ThePointeShop's Progressive Pointe Method Basic Training can help you understand ballet’s most important tool - pointe shoes!

The Progressive Poitne Method Basic Training is a self passed coursed offered exclusively in cooperation with DanseMedica. The course will cover pointe shoe models, basic foot anatomy, and how we use this knowledge for injury prevention. The course offers is 12-weekly modules and provides 3 months access to the DanseMedica Site and all of it's features.

Once you have finished the program, you will walk away with the tools you need to identify a dancer's needs and talk with a pointe shoe fitter so your dancer (or you yourself) has the best experience en pointe possible.

Those who have completed the basic training program are also invited to our annual Pointe Shoe Intensive. Additionally, they are eligible for other benefits, such as reduced booking fees for group virtual fittings, reduced travel fees for studio fittings, and can apply for our certification continuation program.

It does not grant a license to use our trademark, provide certification, or lead to a listing on our website as a preferred fitter. It also does not include ongoing support, membership, or continuing education after the program's completion. We will contact you at the program's conclusion with information if you wish to continue your DanseMedica membership.

Our certification program offers dynamic continued education through personalized training that ensures an in-depth understanding of the art and science of pointe shoe fitting. Upon completion, applicants will undertake a comprehensive exam to showcase their mastery of the training concepts.

Those who wish to apply for the certificaiton continuation course will recieve an application at the conclusion of their basic training. Applications must be submitted BEFORE January 31st, 2026 at 11:59PM PST. Don't miss out on the in-person pointe shoe fitting intensive from February 14-17, 2026, in San Francisco, CA, where you can take your entrance exam and launch your journey toward certification.

Please note: There will be no virtual testing option. Entrance exams MUST be taken in person. If you are unable to attend the conference, simply reach out to schedule a convenient time for your entrance exam.

Upon successful application and entrance exam completion, you will receive our decision before March 31, 2026. As a certification trainee, you'll culminate your journey by testing out of the program with an in person live fitting dempnstration to obtain your well-deserved certificate.

Remember, your listing as a fitter is subject to your ongoing subscription to TPS+ and DanseMedica, along with active participation in new materials and posts to stay abreast of the latest information.
